Understanding Dashboard Metrics

Complete guide to all metrics displayed on your dashboard

Dashboard Overview

Your dashboard displays real-time and historical metrics about your Scalelite cluster. Understanding these metrics helps you:

  • Monitor cluster health
  • Identify performance issues
  • Plan capacity
  • Troubleshoot problems

Core Metrics

Active Meetings

Number of currently running BigBlueButton meetings across all servers in your cluster.

  • Normal: Varies by usage patterns
  • Alert: Sudden drops may indicate server issues

Total Participants

Combined number of users in all active meetings.

  • Includes: Moderators, viewers, presenters
  • Use for: Capacity planning and peak usage tracking

Active Cameras

Number of participants with webcam sharing enabled.

  • High ratio: More bandwidth and CPU usage
  • Monitoring: Helps predict resource needs

Recording Status

Number of meetings currently being recorded.

  • Impact: Each recording uses disk space and processing power
  • Alert: Monitor disk space when recordings are high

Server Health Metrics

CPU Usage

Percentage of CPU resources in use across your cluster.

  • Normal: 0-70%
  • Warning: 70-85%
  • Critical: >85%

Memory Usage

RAM utilization across all servers.

  • Normal: 0-80%
  • Warning: 80-90%
  • Critical: >90%

Disk Space

Storage usage for recordings and logs.

  • Monitor closely: Full disks cause meeting failures
  • Action at 80%: Clean up old recordings or add storage

Historical Analytics

Use the analytics page to view trends over time:

  • Peak usage hours
  • Average meeting duration
  • Participant growth
